One good argument against bullying is that many young people end up dead, usually at their own hands. Those who cry ‘free speech’ when it comes to bullying might as well point a gun at the heads of children who are being bullied and pull the trigger.

Hello, Approximately 12, 8-10 year old children commit suicide every year because they are victims of bullying. Whereas 1.3 million children a year bully others. What is bullying? As defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, one who hurts or intimidates others. This assault may occur in two principle forms, verbal or physical. There are specific reasons why bullying happens and specific solutions that could help save as many as 12 lives a year.Bullying is generally cruel, malicious, or humiliating behavior towards an individual or even a group of various aged people. It is demeaning and can cause untold stress, anger and suffering to those on the receiving end, which in some cases can lead to suicide. Bullying may occur in both verbal and physical forms. Bullying that does not involve hitting and kicking can be just as damaging as actual full out fighting. read the complete essay here:

This was my counter-argument for a speech/presentation on bullying(Note that I was allowed visual examples):I had a friend/classmate come up to me and said “give me your lunch money”, and then I beat the *’@# out of her (it was a play, so I didn’t really beat her, just a choreographed fake beating).I got up and said, “grow a thicker skin, we can all learn to live in a world of bullying, wasn’t that just lovely?”Note that the beating was like, 2 minutes of choreographed MMA of two girls going at it, I’m an athlete with a background in MMA, so I don’t recommend everyone doing this. But it was both hilarious and sent a powerful message.

Let’s put it this way. There IS NO rational argument for bullying. It is abusive, totallly unacceptable behavior by manipulative, aggressive people, possibly exhibiting psychopathology..wreaked upon others. In other words, each instance of this constitutes a criminal offense. The rational person explains, negotiates or appeals to the best in the other person, or attemts to charm him or her. The bully says, “Gimme….or else!”…with a fist or club!
