Comparing Greek and Hindu mythology?

i need to compare and contrast greek and hindu mythology for a research essay. we can compare pretty much anything, like the roles of woman, importance of family, perception of death, ranking of values, valued trais, effects on society, ties with nature, etc. but i dont know what would be a good subject to compare with lots of info! i dont want to pick a comparison that has no research available. (like picking roles of women if there's almost no difference between the two cultures). Does anyone have a good background of both greek and hindu myths that could suggest a good compare/contrast topic that has some similarities but also a lot of noticeable differences between the cultures? thank you!

Among his many gifts, Joseph Campbell’s most impressive was the unique ability to take a contemporary situation, such as the murder and funeral of President John F. Kennedy, and help us understand its impact in the context of ancient mythology. Herein lies the power of The Power of Myth, showing how humans are apt to create and live out the themes of mythology. Based on a six-part PBS television series hosted by Bill Moyers, this classic is especially compelling because of its engaging question-and-answer format, creating an easy, conversational approach to complicated and esoteric topics. For example, when discussing the mythology of heroes, Campbell and Moyers smoothly segue from the Sumerian sky goddess Inanna to Star Wars’ mercenary-turned-hero, Han Solo. Most impressive is Campbell’s encyclopedic knowledge of myths, demonstrated in his ability to recall the details and archetypes of almost any story, from any point and history, and translate it into a lesson for spiritual living in the here and now :) las08

I think you should look at the religion and compare the common themes found in Indo-European mythology. Or for that matter, according to Joseph Campbell all mythology Such as twins, hero figures, sun god, etc….

There’s a guy called Joseph Campbell, now deceased, who has already done all this work for you. You can just Google “The Power of Myth,” by Joseph Campbell and find everything you need.
